Chinese-y Green Beans a la Cheap #Vegan

For some unknown reason, the grocery store I patronize had bagged veg on the super-cheap, so a snagged a bag. Or two. Or three.

This label looks a bit worse for wear, but the green beans were perfect.

I steamed ’em inna bag, then took some out and put some by for another day. The ones I took out, I tossed in cornstarch (cornflour, to my British-speaking friends) and spices (I used salt and Penzeys Justice, but use what you please).

Meanwhile, I heated some sesame oil in my lovely cast iron skillet. Cooked ’em in that until they were tender-crisp and a wee bit scorchy, how we like ’em. Also: sesame seeds.

DELURSHUS!

I’m posting today at Fatal Foodies about a bag of cheap sweet potato cubes. Yay!

I’m slowly weaning myself from a western diet to whole food plant based. so trying to minimise oil etc.. and yes I’m from the Uk (so cornflour is good :))… Im not ahuge green bean fan as I find them bland, so this looks like a greqat recipe to change things up. Ill be trying this in an air fryer though.. Thanks

Good luck with the air fryer. I gave mine away, because we didn’t get along. I never made anything in it that was fit to eat.
