StoryBook Again #ThursdayDoors

Still diving into my archives. One of the fun things about Storybook Style architecture is the way doors are often tucked onto the side of an extrusion or deep in a recess. Nevertheless, I do assure you that these houses do have doors.

Some thoughtless bastard parked a big fat red car in front of this house, so the photograph is truncated.
See my shiny nails? So shiny!
They were preparing for a Derby party. Because Louisville, Kentucky.
At least you can see the garage doors.

Thursday Doors is the brainchild of Norm Frampton, photographer extraordinaire. Visit his site, enjoy his wonderful photographs of actual doors, follow his instructions, and enter a whole world of doors.

About

I was born in Louisville, Kentucky, but now live in the woods in southern Indiana. Though I only write fiction, I love to read non-fiction. The more I learn about this world, the more fantastic I see it is.

I’m so glad! I’m writing a series of mysteries set in a Storybook neighborhood, just because it gives me an excuse to look at pictures of Storybook Style architecture and call it “research”. LOL

I think I agree, although it’s hard for me to choose. 🙂

I wonder why doors are hidden on this style of home. They’re built to grab your attention, then hide the door? Makes little sense to me. Nice photos, though.

They’re built to tickle your fancy, and odd placement of openings is part of that, along with crooked roofs and mismatched building materials. 🙂

    These are all gorgeous.
Makes me want to march up the walk, ring the bell, and invite myself in for a tour – not that I’d actually do it, but I want to 😉

Cool photos! And haha. The thoughtless bastards of the world do make it interesting, while also annoying.

As my then-three-year-old grandson told me when I asked him why he always had one of toys be nasty to the other ones, “If you don’t have a bad guy, the story is boring.”
