Telltale Food and #Nails

Friend and magnificent writer Damyanti Biswas, author of You Beneath Your Skin, sent me an anthology of Malaysian food+drink essays. One of the pieces in Telltale Food: Writings from the Fay Khoo Award, 2017-2019 is Damyanti’s, so I was thrilled to the core to receive the book. Here is an excellent review of Telltale Food. The only piece I’ve read so far is Damyanti’s, but you can bet I’ll read them all!

Charlie and I went a friend’s house, and saw a beautiful painting on their wall. I took a picture of it, because who doesn’t take pictures of pictures to use for nail art inspiration?

The picture:

And the nails:

I bought another polish shelf, and Charlie installed it for me. He’s so sweet!

The binder is for my stamping plates. It is NOT full! Coconut Fluff (the mechanical cat at the edge of the picture) looks on non-judgementally.

A WRITING PROMPT FROM ME TO YOU: Write about food.

I was born in Louisville, Kentucky, but now live in the woods in southern Indiana. Though I only write fiction, I love to read non-fiction. The more I learn about this world, the more fantastic I see it is.

Noooooo, the nails are inspired by the abstract art! Kind of blue marble-y with gold bits in. :p
