Becky or Karen? #1LinerWeds

#4 Daughter, the amazing Sara Marian, was talking about some asshat she knows and called her a Karen. I asked if the asshat is a Karen, or is she a Becky? Sara asked what was the difference?

I said I gather than a Becky is offensive and clueless, and a Karen means it.

I think she pretends to be a Becky so she can get away with her Karen bullshit.

Oh, they will. The Becky thing goes back decades. I’ve said the only people happy about the “Karen” meme are women named “Becky.” And neither of them seem to mind TOO much, beyond a mild annoyance – they know no one is referring to THEM. But I also think we should just replace both with “Ivanka.”

You will find out which it is if you look at more of their behavior. Short term, it’s hard to tell. But no one can be that clueless consistently forever – they need to be acknowledged by those they consider their peers, and it will leak out.
