Currently the Last #CoryDoors #ThursdayDoors

In April, I sure thought I would be out and about by November, but such is not the case. I may be reduced to stalking doors on my Grocery Day Out. At the moment, these are the last pictures I have that I took BC (Before Covid, of course — I’m old, but not THAT old).

Random:

This is Indiana’s first state capitol building. I’ve probably posted it before, but I just love this little building. This is where an all-white legislature ruled that Polly Strong could not be held in slavery because the state constitution forbade slavery, even though her “owner” had bought her in another state.

For all you red-door fans out there:

Looking across the courthouse lawn, past the bandstand where we have (had, BC) free concerts every Friday evening during the summer to a door peeking shyly out:

And this one of a kinda-sorta door that I took when I still had Charlie and we would stop by the hardware store on the way home. Sometimes he preferred for me to stay in the car, because I adore hardware stores and sometimes he didn’t have time to track me down so we could leave.

Thursday doors is the brainchild of Norm Frampton, photographer extraordinaire. Visit his site, enjoy his wonderful photographs, follow his directions, and enter a world of doors.

A lovely collection all taken from a safe distance. If need be I’m sure you could crank out door posts like this for months to come…not that you’d want to 😉

I do like that state capitol building, Marian. It’s hard to beat an attractive stone building. The doors around us aren’t very interesting, either, so I’m always into my door-chives, which are fortunately quite extensive. Usually I stock up when I’m in France or Philadelphia, but I won’t be in either this year. 🙁

I usually go to Louisville twice a month, and to Indianapolis two or three times a year, and always get good doors both places. Now I go to the grocery and back. I’ll have to take the long way around and stop for some door pics.

You, too?? I always hope I don’t see anybody I know if I stop at the drug store or the liquor store or the CVS. I never go unless I need something, but I always think, “I’m not supposed to be here.”

I had to laugh at the BC comment. I like your doors. I do like the capitol building.

That building is so gorgeous! Hard to believe it was the actual state capitol building. It looks the size of a playhouse.

Back when legislators didn’t need a staff the size of an army platoon.
