Tipper’s Bedtime Routine #Caturday #TipperAndChickie

Hi, there! I’m Tipper Allen, and guess what? My #4 Hooman Sister thinks it’s funny, how I drink my water, so Momma took my picture. It’s just part of my bedtime routine.

Get a drink.

Do my yoga.

Snuggle Momma.

Good night, ebbybody!

How long before you get to move into a comfortable position for sleep?

I tried to do that AND accommodate the critters, but Tipper took offense at my moving and left. My bad.

I love how carefully you drink, tipper. I bet you don’t spill a drop, and the yoga moves are pretty good too, but the bedtime snuggle looks like the best part. Night night. 🙂

I do, but it’s not very positive: get ready for the nightly struggle to get to sleep and stay asleep, and hope I can compensate the next day with some naps. How to get rid of the twitching that keeps me awake is part of it. I go to bed with husband – and then I’m up again; he starts snoring lightly and goes right to sleep – every night.

As I used to when the kids were little, I tell him at least one of us needs to be coherent!

I used to sleep very poorly until I tested positive for sleep apnea and got a CPAP machine. I know it’s not feasible for everybody, but my bedtime routine is put the mask on, turn on the machine, and try to get my head on the pillow before I go to sleep.

I wish you continued good sleep. Last night I followed my new routine: have a very specific snack (fiber and protein and enough calories), brush my teeth and say my prayers, and, the minute my body says okay, get to bed. It takes about a half-hour after eating. Worked beautifully last night!

But you keep on finding new ones that work better. One of the many things I admire about you.

I don’t really have a choice, but it IS my nature to assume there might be something I can do, and that panic doesn’t help.

Since the meds after the stents that caused such anxiety I almost couldn’t drive, but had to rescue myself anyway, I am scared, much more aware that such things can happen, and very reluctant to try new meds. So far, I seem to be able to figure things out.

I hope my compassion toward those who struggle with these things is also increased.
