Goin’ To The Chapel #ThursdayDoors

Friend and fellow writer Andrea Gilbey sent me a picture from fabulous England:

She tells me this door is from the Victorian portion of the Chapels (former), Bishops College, Churchgate, Cheshunt.

In case you don’t care to follow the above link, here’s a brief quotation from the web site:

Despite its ecclesiastical appearance, particularly the apsidal library, it [Bishops College] did not contain a chapel (bottom right picture). The chapel of the original college are the buildings on the road front dating from 1806 and altered in the later 19th century, now called the Beaufort Suite, having been the council chamber prior to the modern buildings being finished.

And, just in case you didn’t get an earworm from the title, I give you The Divine Miss M, aka Bette Middler.

Thursday doors is under the direction of Dan Antion, photographer extraordinaire and critter daddy. Visit his site, enjoy his wonderful photographs, follow his directions, and enter a world of doors.

I never much cared for it, but The Divine Miss M has made it happen for me. 🙂

When I saw the title of your post my mind IMMEDIATELY went to Bette’s version of it. What a nice ear worm to have.

The Dixie Cups sing my favorite rendition of the song. That’s a great door pull and wonderful window too.

That’s a wonderful door, Marian. I like the weathered appearance of the door and the mixed masonry structure.

I didn’t get the earworm initially, so thanks for adding that 😉

That’s a beautiful door, Marian. I like the shape of the door and the building materials (brick, glass, iron, wood) all in one shot. I’m visiting from Thursday Doors.

Hi, Natalie! waves I don’t get to see many cool doors these days — except on other people’s Thursday Doors posts. I still have some leftovers, though, and photos from friends. 🙂
