War and Peace #Caturday #TipperAndChickie

Hi, there! I’m Tipper Allen, and guess what?

I askidentally got Chickie into trouble, and she got mad.

Well, first she really did do this: Momma has this toy she hung up for us.

It’s supposed to have a green feather on it for us to play with. This is where Momma found the feather.

Right next to where Chickie sleeps. I didn’t do that.

So then Momma got out this funny-looking thing. #4 Hooman Sister said it looks like a headless hippopotamus in a Cone of Shame.

Momma says that thing on the front is a suction cup to stick on her phone so it stands up.

Chickie got up and sniffed it. So, when Momma found it like this:

she thought Chickie robbed it off the table.

It was me.

But she said, “Gosh darn it, Chickie! Leave it alone!”

And Chickie got mad at me for getting her goshdarned.

So then we had a fight.

It looks like I’m winning, but she ALWAYS rolls over on her back and kicks me. That’s why I’m the only one with scratches on their nose.

We got over the fight, though, and Chickie got into her new box and I relaxed next to her and we talked about this and that until it was time for supper.

Hello kitties.

I like it better when we don’t fight. It’s easier on my nose.

I love the “headless hippopotamus in a Cone of Shame.”

Since The Editor doesn’t edit my one-liner Wednesday posts, I’m always getting her in typo-trouble. I have to remind people that she wasn’t responsible for my mistakes.

The only thing for CERTAIN is that things wouldn’t be on the floor if you didn’t have TWO cats. Or if you catch them in the act.

The feather thing? Unless you saw it happen, it COULD have been either kitty.

Nobody likes being blamed when they’re innocent, even if they often get away with being guilty!

Circumstantial evidence doesn’t always hold up in court, but it’s enough to convict a kitty with known proclivities who has been seen messing with the thing that ends up in a place other than where it belongs. Don’t feel too bad for the unjustly accused kitty: the worst thing that ever happens to them is an exclamation of exasperation. 😀

You can’t punish an animal unless you catch it IN the act – and then it really depends on the animal and your relationship and how you handle it… If you can’t live with that, you shouldn’t have pets. Gizzy chewed things and ruined several – but it was MY fault for not supervising better when I let her out for a bit. I never even raised my voice to her.

When I catch them in the act of scratching the furniture, I tell them NO! STOP IT! When I catch them on the table, I tell them GET OFF THE TABLE! When they stop, I say, GOOD GIRL. GOOD BOY. I’ve learned that the best I can expect from a cat is for them not to do what I’ve ordered them not to do WHILE I’M ACTUALLY LOOKING STRAIGHT AT THEM. For them, that’s obedience. lol! I mean, they have furniture they’re allowed on, even tables, just not in the kitchen. They have lots of scratching places, just not the furniture. But they want it all. ALL! All the things are belong to them! lol!

I imagine you’re right. Perhaps they imagine their servant prefers they not scratch the furniture or walk on the eating table with their litter-box feet. Perhaps we look at each other and think, “Why do I live with this strange animal?”

They usually play fight, and only occasionally get real with it, and that usually isn’t very intense and doesn’t last very long. Unlike this past weekend. Details on Caturday.
