Okay, one final story about That Boss, because it leads to my favorite one-liner I’ve ever delivered ever.
Years after I left the job, worked other places, got married, adopted and gave birth to daughters, Charlie and I went to a concert. Who should I see but That Boss! I said hello, reminded him of who I was, and told Charlie, “You remember I told you about when I worked for four bosses? Well, this is the bad one.”
Perhaps understandably, That Boss took the opportunity to get the knife in. He said, “You quit to become a writer, didn’t you? How did that work out for ya?”
To which I replied:
I’m a writer.
BOOM!
This post is part of Linda G. Hillยs weekly blog hop, One-Liner Wednesday. If you have a one-liner or just like them, follow the link.
