What If You Lost Your Umbrella? #1LinerWeds

It’s been rainy off and on around here (beautifully sunny today), but one never knew. #4 Daughter, the amazing Sara Marian, was speaking of popping over to help me with something and she used a phrase I had forgotten Mom used when somebody had to go out in the rain unprotected:

You’ll just have to run between the raindrops.

What a silly memory, to make me so happy.

A WRITING PROMPT FROM ME TO YOU: Someone forgets — or loses by accident or theft — an umbrella.

I use one if it’s bucketing down. Otherwise, I use my hood or my natural-born hair.

Same. I can’t be bothered with umbrellas. My mom convinced me, at a young age, that they were lightning rods.

Don’t. That song is a major “trigger” for me, to this day. 🤣 I’ll explain privately.

There’s a very beautiful movie about a lost umbrella. The movie’s title is “HOWARDS END” it’s a special story. Try to watch it, it’a very romantic love story 🤗🤗🤗

I’ll be sure to look it up. I read it some years ago, and loved it. I see there was a TV mini-series of it starring one of my favorite actors, so I certainly want to see THAT version! 🙂

        E. M. Forster has written so many beautiful books 🙂 I’ve read them all and seen all the movies. Hiwards End is one of my favourite but I love “A ROOM WITH A VIEW” and ” MAURICE” too 😌

Oh, I DID love A ROOM WITH A VIEW! And A PASSAGE TO INDIA. It was so funny: I watched it with my husband and our oldest daughter; when it was over, they were discussing it and I said, “What movie did I watch?” I got a completely different reading of it than they did. I guess that’s what true art does. 🙂
