The Return of the Bear-Whippin’ Sauce

I know I’ve posted the recipe for Bear-Whippin’ Sauce before, but it bears (see what I did there? ahahaha!) repeating.

This past weekend, I scored some OUTRAGEOUSLY good fresh strawberries at the farmers’ market. So, naturally, I made some Bear-Whippin’ Sauce to go with them.

Bear-Whippin’ Sauce, since you probably haven’t read my blog pretty much daily for 13 years, is what #4 Daughter thought when she was little and I said I was making berry-dipping sauce. So it’s been Bear-Whippin’ Sauce ever since.

It is used thusly:

And the recipe:

BEAR-WHIPPIN’ SAUCE

Mix equal amounts of mayonnaise and brown sugar (light or dark)

Sometimes I stir the sauce into, like, blueberries and sliced bananas or something.

Anyway, enjoy!

A WRITING PROMPT FROM ME TO YOU: How would you whip a bear with sauce, anyway?

Family names, right? Like “Tug-o’-War”s for repurposed plastic tubs. Again #4’s mishearing of Tupperware.

LOL! I love those quirky names /words that toddlers and little kids come up with and they stick!

I’ve never heard of this combo before. I will have to try it now.

Speaking of berries: I had some raspberries last week. Hadn’t eaten any in a long time. They were deelish!

For some reason, I’m not madly keen about raspberries or blackberries. They’re just like strawberries only their seeds are plump instead of flat. Of course, I would totally eat them when Charlie and I picked them on walks. Because Charlie. So many good memories.
