I’m talking about HAMILTON. I had to subscribe to Disney+ so Sara could show me the Marvel movies, and HAMILTON, a film of the Broadway production, was on so I took my shot and watched it.
OH. MY. GOD. If you’ve only heard the soundtrack, you might or might not be impressed, but seeing it in action …. The sheer energy of it, the effortless flow, the economy of the storytelling, the costumes, the staging …. Yeah, you could say I was impressed.
If you want a window to all things HAMILTON, here’s a link to the official website, the New York Ham Channel.
If you have around eleven minutes to spare, you can hear some of it in this James Corden Carpool Karaoke with Lin-Manuel Miranda, the genius behind HAMILTON. After about the four-minute mark, they go on to other songs, but you might want to hang around for the dynamite rendition of “One Day More” from LES MISERABLES.
My nails this week have nothing to do with any of that.
I painted my accent nails with Maniology’s Flotsam and my other nails with Maniology’s It’s Lit. Those are stamping polishes, but they make great base coats, too.
The fluid decals were made with Baroness X’s Silk Road, Pop-arazzi’s The Hue Is Blue, and Sally Hansen’s Xtreme Pacific Blue. On my accent nails, I cut the decal with a straight edge and applied over the blue base coat to create a diagonal. The reason I do a base coat on all my nails when I’m covering them with a decal is that then I don’t have to worry if the decal doesn’t quite fit or if it has holes or thin spots.
I stamped flowers on the blue part of my accent nails using Maniology’s It’s Lit from the plate Maniology’s Flower Angel BM-XL352.
