Not A Charlatan. Not In The Least.

I subscribe to The Food Charlatan online, and she has seriously maligned herself. But, as I see from her About page (best.about.page.ever), she just thinks the word “charlatan” is fun to say. SISTER! I like saying “disingenuous.” Try it.

ANYWAY, she (Karen) posted a recipe for One-Hour Baguette, and I was like, hold my beer.

SO GOOD! And pretty, too:

I made it just like she did, so follow that link and get the recipe directly from the Master Charlatan, herself. WARNING: She does precede her recipes with lots of pictures and talk-talk, but she has a button at the beginning of the post to take you directly to the recipe. The talk-talk is pretty fun, though, so you might give it a try, if you aren’t busy.

A WRITING PROMPT FROM ME TO YOU: No, I am not going to suggest you write about something long and relatively slender, but you may if you like. I’m not the boss of you. I was going to say “bread.”

    I like saying “chicken chimichanga.”

Tried stretching it out to “cheesy chicken chimichanga,” but it felt like one of those old women who goes out of her way to make sure you see her at church, just to prove she’s Godly by association. Had to rein in my desire for verbal effluvium, go back to “chicken chimichanga.” It seemed the right life-choice.

Oh, how I miss being little and coming home from school on baking day! Going to go tell mom that now too. 💕

Ooh! A one-hour baguette? I have to try. I’ve baked baguettes probably 4-5 times and I swear it was half a day, traipsing back and forth to the kitchen, like challah, only challah’s worth it… Okay, anyway, thanks!

It isn’t really a baguette, unless “baguette” is just French for “a long loaf”. Pretty good, for a hour’s work, though!
