I watched The Man Who Invented Christmas for the first time this year. It’s about Charles Dickens and the writing of A Christmas Carol. Highly recommended, especially for fiction writers and for readers who want to know one take on how the writing process can work.

Another new one this year is George C. Scott’s A Christmas Carol. Scott brings a different and very realistic nuance to his role as Scrooge. Also highly recommended.

Before I show you my nails this week, YOU JUST KNOW I have to share my favorite “Christmas” movie with you, just because I love this ad, which is totally inappropriate to the actual movie.

The winter solstice is upon us, so I did Solstice nails this week.

The base coat is Maniology’s Grey Joy, with a sponged ombre of Grey Joy and Maniology’s Flotsam. The sponge was just a regular little triangular makeup sponge. I’m not very good at ombre. I used Maniology’s Latex Free Mani Mask to paint around my nails to keep the sponged color from coloring my entire fingers, since I’m allergic to latex. The stamping polish is Sally Hansen’s Crystal Chrome Chrome Crystal. Hey, I didn’t name it. I used Maniology’s M071 (the Ouija board one) for the moon, and Maniology X Kelli Marissa BM-XL213 for the stars.

A WRITING PROMPT FROM ME TO YOU: A Solstice celebration.

Where do you find it to watch? I rarely see it on any channel. I watch a version that is available on YouTube by Newcastle After Dark.

The Man Who Invented Christmas sounds like I’d enjoy it. I’ve not heard of it. I saw The Holiday for the first time this year and it’s now one of my favorite holiday movies. Merry Christmas, Marian. And a Happy New Year, too.

Glad you love the nails! Die Hard takes place at Christmas and has a couple of Christmas songs in it, but it’s only a Christmas movie as a joke. 😀 I think it’s really funny that the studio made a 30-year anniversary trailer AS IF it were a Christmas movie.

I saw it for the first time around Christmas 2020, and now it’s destined to be a tradition.
