Chickie Is Not Alone #Caturday #TipperAndChickie

HELLO! My name is CHICKIE!

This week, I snuck into the cupboard under the stairs and hid so Mommy closed me in almost all night. I wanted to play Harry Potter, and I did that for a while, but I got bored. Then I took a nap. Then Mommy woke up and came looking for me. I mewed as quiet as I could, to see how deaf she is now, but she has that supersonic Mommy hearing, where she can’t hear a thunder rumble, but she can hear a baby whisper.

Tipper tried to tell her I was in trouble (I wasn’t), but she thought he was just doing his regular bedroom/livingroom patrol, so I got to do my ambenture.

Tipper and I fuss and fight a lot, but we’re besties. We like to hang out together.

But sometimes, a girl needs to be alone.

When I cat sit for Preston, I always have to know where he is before I leave. Chickie, I appreciate your desire for alone-time, but…

You’re very wise, Dan. From now on, I’m going to make sure both of them are accounted for before I go to bed. Now I understand why my grandfather, in his last couple of years, asked, “Where’s the cat?” every couple of hours.

There would have been ghostly meows in the middle of the night… Eventually, you’d find her, and she’d still blame you.

I could barely hear her meows when I was right outside the closet door. And, weirdly, she credited me with “rescuing” her, but not with trapping her.

Take your wins and run with them. You would have searched high and low, and maybe Tipper would have helped.

I guess the new rule is “Don’t close something if there’s a chance in a million that a cat is inside.”

Chickie reminds me a lot of Rosie, a gorgeous little calico with an adventurous streak. One day she didn’t come for dinner, didn’t come when it got dark, didn’t do the things she normally did so I went looking for her. Eventually heard her crying next door. She must have snuck into the neighbour’s underhouse area and fallen asleep. Then they closed the door and she couldn’t get out. Not sure who was more upset, Rosie or me. 😉
I’m so glad your Mum found you Chickie. A little bit of me-time is good, too much is scary. -hugs-
