How Not To Play The Flute #1LinerWeds

I called a friend the other day to check up on her and we had a laughfest, trading worries and woes, as often happens when one trades worries and woes with a dear friend. She said she had been playing the flute at church, but:

It’s difficult to play with a mask on.

It is even more difficult to play the flute with the lung complications of covid and long covid. Leave the masks on! Blowing into wind instruments is a great way to spread the virus. It isn’t over, people.

As Bob Dylan said, “The COVID, my friend, is blowin’ in the wind. The COVID is blowin’ in the wind.” …What’s that? Bob Dylan DIDN’T say that?

I’m with you Alicia. Btw did you see the news about how they’ve found a link between CFS and long covid? The research could pay dividends for everyone.

It might be worth testing, but the importance of embouchure makes me doubt it.

They should make a special mask for flautists. Something with a valve that seals around the end of the flute. Could catch on. 😀
