We were stuck in traffic on the bridge. Bumper-to-bumper, absolute standstill, to the point where people were turning off their engines, rolling down their windows, and cussing I mean talking.
I saw a man working his way along the line of cars toward us, saying a few words, then talking for a longer time before moving on.
When he reached us, he said, “Have you accepted Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior?”
And I, evil bitch that I am, said,
“Yes, I have.”
When I saw how disappointed he was not to be able to witness to me, I wished I’d told the truth.

August 31, 2022 at 7:00pmJesus did NOT say, “Go out and PROSELYTIZE to all who will hold still for it.” He said, “Feed the hungry, clothe the naked, visit the prisoners…”, relieve human misery where you find it in the physical body, and then shut up about it.
I regard my personal beliefs as something reasonably carefully thought out, and I did not appreciate some former Catholic-Evangelical Protestant trying to convert me and my children at a camp we went to.
Don’t they get it? Act the way you should, and people will be happy to join you. Badger them, tell them they have to be saved YOUR way, deny them help unless they pretend to convert to your version of Christianity to get a meal and a bed in a shelter, and all you’re doing is making them lie.
