Mansfield At Last! #ThursdayDoors #MansfieldOhio

Mansfield, Ohio is one of our favorite places. When Mom and my grandparents lived in Corning, New York, we overnighted in Mansfield whenever we drove up to see them. We can never do everything on one overnight, and this trip was no exception. This time, Sara and I did something we never did before: just walked around downtown.

Naturally, I got pictures.

The first one is of the back entrance to our hotel. The hotel website is, as a character on The Rookie says of snitches, a lying liar who lies. There was NOT a bar and restaurant on site. But there was a rear entrance that could use a little TLC. I do love it that the porch is painted the same color and shade as the trash can. Yes, we had to haul the luggage up the steps, because the front entrance was on the street.

This corner-ish door was in front.

I may have another angle on one of these churches in another post. We walked around A LOT.

The horses (or as Sara said when she was little and as we all still say, shoshies) are in front of the carrousel. Bank with doors behind them.

I have quite a few pictures of the carrousel building. This one features two of the doors. In bad weather, they close the big doors. I don’t know what happened to the bit of the sign that says Park. On the wall of somebody’s basement man cave, maybe.

Multiple doors……….

Many more Mansfield pictures to come.

Thursday doors is under the direction of Dan Antion, photographer extraordinaire and critter daddy. Visit his site, enjoy his wonderful photographs, follow his directions, and enter a world of doors.

About

I was born in Louisville, Kentucky, but now live in the woods in southern Indiana. Though I only write fiction, I love to read non-fiction. The more I learn about this world, the more fantastic I see it is.

Lots of round pointy things on the church – I know you liked that. These are great doors, Marian. I’m glad you remembered us as you were traveling.
