Caturday: Chickie On Ballet

HELLO! My name is CHICKIE!

Mommy’s two youngest great-granddaughters came to visit, and I thought they were too wild. Mommy says they’re very good little girls, but they’re curious and want to examine and explore. That’s okay, but don’t examine and explore me!

I think girls should be quiet and still, like the girls in the picture Poppy loved.

I could be a good ballet girl. Mommy says I have the toes for it.

Or maybe I’ll just stay being a bat. It always made Poppy laugh, and now it makes Mommy laugh.

I hope those little girls come back. Maybe they’ll explore in the bafroom and open that cabinet Mommy fastened shut so Tipper and I can’t get behind the baftub and hide. That would be fun!

A WRITING PROMPT FOR ANIMALS: Would you rather be a bat or a ballet dancer?

Oh stay as a bat, Chickie! You made me laugh right out loud too. Merry Christmas little girl. I hope you and the gorgeous boy [Tipper] and the fluffy thing have a wonderful christmas and get lots of new toys to play with. Much love, Meeks, Golli and Mogi.

I gave them a pop-up tunnel. They fought over it for a little minute, and now they’re ignoring it. Cats!

I’m sure you’d look adorable and be as graceful as any one of the girls in the painting. In a tutu. In fact, I’m going to tell your human to put you in one, and take a picture.

LOL! And I thought we were friends! I can’t imagine her tolerating that, but now the urge is SO STRONG….

MiMi here, answering on behalf of the male human who isn’t the one who feeds me. I always liked to be the bat. The world is much better viewed upside down, or cat side up as I call it. Merry Christmas, Chickie. I hope you have lots of ribbon and ornaments to play with.

Cat side up! I love it! No ribbon or ornaments, alas. I didn’t decorate for Christmas. Too busy getting hearing aids and new eyeballs and such. I did give them some tissue paper, which they adore!
