Thank You, Karleigh! Monday Recommends and Nail Art

I’m not on TikTok (I know, but somebody has to not be, and I drew the short straw), but The Morning Brew newsletter linked me to @mynameiskarleigh’s post about how to remove your name from mailing lists. It costs $2.00 USD online and $3.00 USD by mail, and well worth it. Because MomGoth loves her Sweet Little Baby Angels, I’m linking you directly to the USPS’s directions.

The Winter Solstice is this week, when the days begin to get longer and the nights shorter. Me, I like more darkness, but the world rolls on in spite of my preferences. So, my nails are solstice nails this week.

I used two magnetic polishes: you put on the polish, then hold a small magnet over it for about a minute to bring out that tiger-eye line. I think the blue is getting old, because the magnet didn’t work very well on it. The blue is Vanessa Molina’s The-label-fell-off, and the red/orange is Live Love Polish’s Tabby. The silver stamping polish is Sally Hansen’s Chrome Crystal, and the gold is Hit the Bottle’s Divinely Decadent. The plates are Maniology X Kelli Marissa BM-XL213 and Classic Beauty BM-XL355 (also Maniology).

Nice looking nails. That’s a cool technique. Sorry about the solstice, but I say, turn on more lights.

That’s what most people say. Dickens said, “Darkness was cheap, and Scrooge liked it.” So do I, for that reason and because darkness is cozy.
