Monday Recommends and Nail Art: Storage and Valentines

Back in the day, Edward Snowden (remember Edward Snowden?) got interviewed, and he recommended SpiderOak for cloud backup.

So I started using SpiderOak ONE. Love it. It’s easy to use and, if I run into trouble — and I inevitably run into trouble — generally of the kind that experts look at and say, “But … But it doesn’t do that.” —

I lost my place. Oh, yeah: If I run into trouble, they have great FAQs and help articles, and their help desk is so responsive they don’t call it a help desk; they literaly call it zendesk.

I needed to transfer my files to this new lappy, so they told me how to do it quickly and easily, and now my files are on my desktop and my laptop, and they sync between the two, so I can work on one and the files update on the other, as well.

Kewl!

I learned this week that St. Valentine is also the patron saint of beekeepers, so my nails this week are in gold and very dark brown and feature beeish things.

Love the nails, Marian! They would be great in late summer, as well, when the bees are busy doing their thing.
Last fall, I switched to an iPhone and MacBook and now when I take photos with my phone, they automatically sync to the laptop. It is amazing what technology can do to make our lives a bit easier!

That sounds like a good service. We like bees around here, so very cool nails.

I have a bit of odd news for you, regarding technology. Remember when (of course it starts with a story) I wasn’t getting notifications of new blog posts? I tried signing up with the email option. Then both started working. Ever since then, I get two notifications. One on the day you post, and one early the next morning. Now, I’m only getting the next day notification. I’ll check all the usual suspects on my end (spam and such) but I thought I’d let you know.

I don’t know WHAT’S up with WordPress these days! All kinds of things are wonky. Day-yum.
