We haven’t heard from our weekly paper’s call-in patrons in a while. Here’s a word to the wise.
A Word of Caution
by Anonymous Caller
This is a word of caution
to people…
It is getting cold.
Fair warning,
rats do chew
through wires.
They will crawl somewhere
to stay warm.
They’ll chew automobile wires,
anything.
It’s true.
Keep an eye on
your surroundings.
There are rats there.
I don’t know about you, but I certainly consider myself cautioned.
I’m posting today at Fatal Foodies about flash-grilled salmon.
A WRITING PROMPT FOR YOU: Write about rats.

November 29, 2016 at 8:48amSince I’m sure the poem wasn’t found, I’m hoping the interior of your car’s hood didn’t present such findings…

November 29, 2016 at 2:09pmIndeed, indeed the poem WAS found! It was an actual call to our weekly paper’s Live Wire call-in column! I mean, it was just a call, and I broke it into poetical lines.

November 29, 2016 at 12:58pmI had a Triumph Spitfire under a car cover in my yard for several years, and I never had a wire eaten. Of course the car was still plagued by electrical problems, cuz British, but no rats.
