The amazing Eric Nastav, Manager of the Barnes and Noble in the Columbus Learning Center on the campus of Indiana University – Purdue University – Columbus, which also includes Ivy Tech, threw an Authors Fair and Per Bastet Publications was invited.
We set up.
It was Monkey Day, so I was all Monkied up in Monkey stuff given to me at various times by my pal, Jane.
I immediately headed off on a doorscursion.
And ran into a trio of aliens.
They were non-readers and, being strangers here, themselves, couldn’t give me directions. But I found a door all by myself.
They led into the Atrium, which was full of art! And the honkingest biggingest flag I ever, personally, ever saw up close.
.
.
.
.
Another door led to more arts.
.
These represent Indiana University, Ivy Tech, and Purdue University. Pretty.
.
And, as we packed up, I gave the event my final seal of approval by providing the traditional blood sacrifice.
.
This has been (just barely) part of Norm Frampton’s weekly Thursday Doors link-up. Head over to Norman’s blog, look at his real door photos, click on the blue frog link, and see some more. I can’t promise you blood, but there will be doors.
A WRITING PROMPT FOR YOU: Your character cuts himself or herself.

January 5, 2017 at 9:09amNext time, just let the artist try the chisel on him/herself. No need to try that yourself.
And, piccie????
Marian Allen
January 5, 2017 at 10:11amPiccie. That’s a wee li’l picture. If it’s magnificent, it isn’t a piccie or a picture, but a PICK-tchah. Or a photograhhph or peinting.

January 5, 2017 at 9:27amLove those aliens, Marian. Sorry about the blood sacrifice, but I guess someone has to do it!

January 5, 2017 at 9:41amCongrats for meeting the aliens!
Monkeys are cool.
Nice tour. Thanks for all the images. The self made man is still making me chortle.

January 5, 2017 at 10:07amThanks for the Monkeys!

January 5, 2017 at 10:26amThanks for including the hardware, without that, art is a pile of stuff on the floor. I like the self-made man, and whatever that thing is hanging above the big honkin flag.

January 5, 2017 at 10:32am“Thanks for including the hardware, without that, art is a pile of stuff on the floor.” ROTFLOL! If somebody hasn’t done an installation of art that’s a pile of stuff on the floor, somebody should!

January 5, 2017 at 12:26pmHaha! Excellent! Non-readin aliens! Psh, we’ve already got enough earthlings who don’t read! Tremendous thanks for including so much art. I adore Self-Made Man!

January 5, 2017 at 12:51pmArt is a kind of a doorway. Not a door door, but a doorWAY, all the same.

January 5, 2017 at 12:40pmA fun post, the monkeys led the way! An Interesting place, I do admit having to enlarge Self-made man photo to understand it, obviously I need new glasses π I do hope your cut finger was not related!
Marian Allen
January 5, 2017 at 12:53pmHa! No, Vicky, I cut my finger on a plastic box when I was putting away my cloth-and-stuff bookmark makings. Didn’t cut it on the metal; didn’t cut it on the scissors; didn’t cut it on the pins. On the plastic. The monkeys wept.

January 5, 2017 at 1:49pmLOL! You’re so funny! I haven’t heard “honkin” in sometime. I say it myself sometimes.
I saw the biggest, honkinest flag in NYC at One World Trade Center Memorial. They can get BIG!
Add me to the group that liked Self Made Man. That’s a good one!
Sorry about the Blood Sacrifice! Hope it heals quick, doesn’t sting, and it’s somebody else’s turn next time.

January 5, 2017 at 4:24pmSometimes it’s I who take one for the team, sometimes it’s somebody else. There must always be a blood sacrifice. It’s usually I, because clumsy.

January 5, 2017 at 6:18pmWho knew viewing art could draw blood? I’m mean I know there’s such a thing as suffering for one’s art, but that doesn’t mean you have to take it literally π

January 6, 2017 at 8:02amOne of my partners claims “There must always be a blood sacrifice.” Of course, she always gives her religion as “Druid.”
Marian Allen
January 6, 2017 at 8:03amThat’s a lie, by the way. π

January 7, 2017 at 3:00pmFun post; love your humor and it looked like you were having fun exploring. The self made man is something I would have thought up (the way my mind works) but this creative artist beat me to the punch (chisel).
