So I went to Magna cum Murder last weekend, and it was TOTALLY AWESOMESAUCE as always. I snapped oh, many pictures of doors and stuff. Enough for three or four Thursday Doors posts. For, you know, a given value of “doors”.
I am throwing you a door this week, I totally am! Here is an actual factual door from the Columbia Club, where we stayed.
Ain’t that a pip? Ain’t that a peach? Ain’t that just a daisy, though?
And lights for Joey:
One of my partners, the incomparable T. Lee Harris, says the kids in her neighborhood would have called that last one “Noxzema glass,” because it’s the exact color of jars of Noxzema skin cream. Check it out.
This post has been, marginally, and for a given value of “This post has been”, part of Norm Frampton’s Thursday Doors link-up. Visit Norm’s site, enjoy his wonderful photographs, click on the blue frog link, and enter a world of doors.
A WRITING PROMPT FROM ME TO YOU: Write about an unusual light and a fascinating door.

October 25, 2018 at 7:05amI do like that door. The lamps are pretty. I like the one near the paneled wall – stately stuff, that one.

October 25, 2018 at 8:17amIt’s a very stately building. I’ll link to it when I do a full post of its doors, so you can see better pictures of the place. A real class joint. You could hear it sigh in regret for its fallen state when it saw us coming.

October 25, 2018 at 6:46pmAwww, thank you! I will have Magnalights 6 & 9 please. THE Columbia Club? THE? Right here in the city? You know that’s like 20 minutes from my house and I didn’t even blow you a kiss! If you were here on Saturday, my kiss coulda made it, too. Coulda made it all the way to Corydon, for that matter. Maybe even Louisville. Hell, did you get any of our tree limbs? LOL

October 26, 2018 at 10:03amYeah, THE Columbia Club. The very same as ever was. I WAS there on Saturday, and I think I felt it when you kissed one of the kids. When I got home, there was an entire tree that planted itself in the front yard with a heart carved in it that said “Joey <3 The Mister”. Is that yours? ‘Cause that sounds like it’s yours. Some wind, eh?

October 27, 2018 at 9:49pmSome wind indeed. Lots of problems in our neck of the woods last weekend. That tree is absolutely ours!
