Inspiration and #Nails

Friend and fellow writer SUSAN FISCHBACH ISAACS is taking a poetry class. She posted her latest homework on her blog here. The poem is called The Perfect Shade of Joy. She said she was thinking of me when she wrote the last line. I can’t think why.

I got nail mail from Maniology this week. Part of the order was a Mystery Bundle, which is always a gamble. It pleases me to report that I got NO duplicate items; everything was new to me. I know that relieves your minds.

I did my nails special for a meeting.

Then, of course, I had to do them again for Valentine’s Day.

A WRITING PROMPT FROM ME TO YOU: Write about joy.

Officially, about once a week. I say “officially,” because I screw up a lot and have to remove failures and start over. If you count those, it’s more than once a day on nail-art day. If you don’t count false starts, about once a week. šŸ™‚

So pretty! I’ve been giving my own nails a breather. Three years in gel polish and the removal with sanding and acetone can’t be HEALTHY, though they seem fine actually. I should maybe see about having them done for Valentine’s day!

Yeah, I did that sanding thing ONCE and my nails did not respond well. It wasn’t gel, though; it was some kind of repetitive dip. Pretty, but ghastly in the removal. It’s been nearly a year, and the damage is just about fully repaired. I hope. Something happened to my right thumbnail (it splits, and it never split before). DO get your nails done for Valentine’s Day! Maybe just polish, not gel?

Is it me, or are you really getting good at naildos? I love the Valentine’s nails! So cute and sparkly!

I’m definitely getting less messy in the application. Unless I have one of those muscle farts and fling the brush into the air and try to catch it. Then, messy.
