I particularly like this article, for obvious reasons: Support BLM, wildfire relief and COVID frontlines.
Among other things, the article underlines something I’ve also been underlining.
One thing we have learned from COVID19 is that bad things don’t happen in isolation. As the pandemic drags along, more than a million acres have already burned in California’s wildfire season. In the midst of a much needed national reckoning on racism, another Black man, Jacob Blake, was shot by police in Kenosha, WI.
Similar to how bad things don’t happen separately, solutions to crisis also don’t arise alone. We believe that many of the solutions needed to ease the broader impacts of COVID-19 will also ease the transition to climate justice. That the urgency of climate change is the urgency for racial justice.
