T’row Da Bum Out! #MondayRecommends #NailArt

You know how people watch sports and yell at the television and argue with the umpire/referee’s calls? Well, I do that with home makeover shows.

I do that less with flipper shows: Ones where people buy a run-down house and make it beautiful or where the homeowner has input. The one I’ve watched so far is:

Hoarder House Flippers (Hulu)

The ones I have on my list to try are:

Tiny House Nation (Netflix AND Hulu)
Flip or Flop (Hulu)
Stay Here (Netflix)
Save My Reno (Hulu)
Amazing Interiors (Netflix)

The ones I argue with are the ones where the homeowners are surprised with a makeover or are given limited options. I’m always like, “WHY did you rip up that beautiful hardwood floor and put in an UGLY hardwood floor? WHY did you get rid of that door — that door was AWESOME? WHAT made you think a cooktop on a kitchen island where people are going to be sitting was a good idea? You call THAT a good use of that space??? Did it never occur to you that the homeowners had that on the wall because they WANTED that on the wall? A white couch and a glass coffee table — SERIOUSLY? — What part of ‘We have two small boys’ is hard to understand?”

Like:

Instant Dream Home (Netflix)
Worst to First (Hulu)
Extreme Home Makeover (Hulu)

Ones I want to try:

Dream Home Makeover (Netflix)

Those ought to last me for a while.

I grabbed a stamping plate at random again:

I did an undercoat of O.P.I.’s Suzi Chases Portu-geese (hey, I don’t name ’em, folks), and topped it with L.A. Colors Color Craze’s Intimate. The blue stamping polish is Maniology’s Celestial, the pink stamping polish is Maniology’s Sweet Peach, and the rose gold stamping polish is Born Pretty’s Pink Planet. The stamping plate is Maniology’s M259.

A WRITING PROMPT FROM ME TO YOU: A well-meant but unpleasant surprise.

lmao! I used to watch those shows and do the same thing. Now I make my own ‘houses’ inside games. Much more satisfying. 😀

I can see the satisfaction factor, but you have to work too hard to craft furniture the way you want it. I’d just lay the professionals out to filth without making any actual effort. 😀

As one person whose parents had a white couch (and chair) and glass tables, I nod to you. When our kids were small, we had a brownish tapestry couch all scotch-guarded to Sesame Street and back.
I get bored of seeing the same things over and over in those remodel shows. On trend. On trend usually lacks some personality if you ask me. Shiplap, granite counters, subway tile, sectionals, enormous showers in case all 6 of you would like to wash up together. And you know, everything GRAY doesn’t scream personality either. Anyway, I do dig the shows about unusual houses.
