Not seems as good a time as any — for no particular reason — to see what Canada has to offer. Charlie loved books that showed pictures of landscapes and structures from other countries, and Canada was no exception. He got this one, TRAVELING THE TRANS-CANADA FROM NEWFOUNDLAND TO BRITISH COLUMBIA, through the National Geographic Society. The Trans-Canada Highway is sort of like Route 66, eh? It crosses Canada from sea to shining sea.
Anyway, here are some pictures from the book.

A WRITING PROMPT FROM ME TO YOU: Do you like road trips? Does it have to be on an actual road?

February 13, 2025 at 11:35amI love these pictures, Marian. I traveled to the Trans Canada highway from Seattle, Washington and followed it to Montreal when I moved to CT from Washington. I don’t have any pictures from that trip (they are with the Ex) so I might see if I can find this book in our library.

February 13, 2025 at 9:51amMarian, I love the little village by the water with the multi-colored homes. So inviting! I was on the Trans-Canada highway many years ago, except the section of it, north from Wisconsin, is just a lot of trees and trees and more trees! π

February 17, 2025 at 9:01amIf they’re always the same kinds of trees, that can certainly get monotonous. The prairie gets that way, as I recall from our trip out west.
