I completely forgotted to announce my new publication! It’s the crazycakes science fiction farce that began my Holly Jahangiri (the fictional one) story series and my Holly Jahangiri (the real one) internet friendship. It was first published many long years ago, then lost its publisher and loafed around eating its head off and doing absolutely nothing around the house, then I re-edited it and added a Holly cameo toward the end and now here it is again, like a bad penny.

FORCE OF HABIT

When Bel Schuster goes off limits on the planet Llannonn, she finds herself, through no fault of her own — okay, through SOME fault of her own — enmeshed in a web of mistaken identities, local politics, intergalactic gangsterism, police stings, and multiple breeches of protocol. And just HOW does Holly Jahangiri, High Head Librarian, get involved?

Here’s a review from when it was first published:

It’s a comedy of errors that owes a good deal to Robert Asprin, Abbot and Costello, Laurel and Hardy and P.G. Wodehouse…

–Analog science fiction and fact

And here’s a new review:

Five Stars

If the Marx Brothers, Keystone Kops and PG Wodehouse all met on a strange and alien planet for a misguided tour, this is the three-hour-tour they’d have. The story gets hard to follow at points, but it’s more confusing for the characters who belabor under mis-assumptions, incorrect identifications, and plots gang aglee.

I laughed out loud several times, and smiled on almost every page.

This book is a fun farce. Lots of giggles.

My nails, as a bit of an afterthought, are leafy green.

About

I was born in Louisville, Kentucky, but now live in the woods in southern Indiana. Though I only write fiction, I love to read non-fiction. The more I learn about this world, the more fantastic I see it is.
