Monday UnRecommends and Nail Art: Low Lowdown and Spring in Autumn

Not long ago, I recommended The Lowdown, a show streaming on Hulu and Disney+. I now have to rescind my recommendation. It started out with quirky but believable characters, clever writing, and compelling plotting.

Then it got stupid. It got so stupid that, when Sara and I finished the next-to-last episode, we agreed that it didn’t deserve to be finished and we stopped watching. So bad, it didn’t even get to play the “you might as well finish it at this point” card.

0 out of 10, do NOT recommend.

My nails this week are kind of springy. I just felt like it. Sparkly pink base color and dark pink swirls.

I’ve had that feeling: there’s one more episode, and I JUST DON’T CARE ANYMORE!

I think if you get that far, the people who create and run the show have had a major disagreement with the writers, who have either been fired or walked off in a huff, and, in solidarity, the other scriptwriters won’t pick up the job, and the janitor has to finish it.

Mom had that experience reading a book by Peter S. Beagle. He’s a WONDERFUL writer, but she felt this one was a clunker. She said, “The first third of the book was written by Peter S. Beagle. The second third was written by his beagle. The last third was written by a bagel.” She was a strange and wonderful woman, my mother.

That’s a harsh unrecommendation, but I don’t have Disney/Hulu anymore so there’s no danger. I think your nails are kind of festive for the upcoming holidays. Hey, everyone else has had Christmas decorations up for a few weeks, why not you.

I guess they are kind of Christmassy, although that wasn’t my intention. It’s hard to keep track of what month it is, with Holiday Creep.
