Yes, MomGoth was a scofflaw in her college days; I confess it.

See, all the female dorm residents were required to fill out these cards after, say, 6:00 pm. I’m sure, now, the purpose was to keep us safe, but the male residents didn’t have to fill them out, so we saw it as sexist. If it had been merely paternalistic, the boys would have had to fill them out, too, yes?

Many of the young women protested the cards by carrying them away instead of filling them out and returning them to their places. I can’t imagine why I have one. ~casts eyes innocently at the ceiling and whistles nonchalantly~

I see we were also supposed to note where we were planning to go, and that my destination, when I chose to share it, was often a play or the campus flick. Nothing to bring the blush of shame to me, but it was the double standard that irked me.

Truth be told, that’s about as protesty and scofflawish as I ever got. Kinda sad, isn’t it?
