We’re still sad here, after Munchkin’s passing. The vet’s office sent us a card about the Rainbow Bridge, with kind notes on it. MaMA and I were very touched.
Our online friend, Elvira, Mistress of Felinity, wrote a story about Munchkin at the Rainbow Bridge, meeting Elvira’s late mentor, Nikita, and my (and Munchkin’s) late human, Ed. Thank you, Miss Elvira!
I never expected to miss my foster brother. I thought I wanted to be the only cat, but it turns out I had become accustomed to having him around. If I can’t have him, I want MaMA. I want her to sit on the couch so I can curl up on or near her. Fortunately, sitting on the couch is what she does best. When she’s doing something else, like laundry, cooking, looking something up for her writing, or some other trivial thing, I call her. When I’m down in the basement and she’s upstairs, I call her.
Humans are not noted for their obedience; she almost never comes when she’s called. She calls me LoudHead, ScreamyFace (which my human sister Sara used to call my predecessor, Katya), Eliza Mewlittle, or Nothin’ But A Hound-Dog.
Granny’s cat, Sweetie Pie, has agreed to assist me on the blog as a stringer based at Granny’s house. We have a new badge, which MaMA has placed on the sidebar. Naturally, the picture of me is larger than the picture of Sweetie Pie. This is as it should be.

It is natural to miss someone we love, but you are strong enough to move on and carry on in his name, we know.
