What IS It With GHOSTBUSTERS?

Watched Castle last night. It was their Halloween episode, so they had a ghosty plot. There were numerous references to GHOSTBUSTERS, each of which made me grin. I have songs from the GHOSTBUSTERS movie on my mp3 player and I always crank ’em up when they cycle through.

Now, my favorite Halloween movie is and will always be ARSENIC AND OLD LACE.

I also love HOCUS POCUS. I mean, Bette Midler? Lines like, “I always wanted a child. And now I think I’ll have one. ON TOAST!

But, you know…. And I’m sorry, but I have to say it, GHOSTBUSTERS makes me feeeel go-oo-od!

I also watched Ghostbusters but didn’t really liked it. But I like Bette Midler. It’s really amazing.

I don’t know why Ghostbusters tickles me so much. Part of it is the music, I’m sure. Part of it is the absurdity. I like subtle, dry humor, but I also have a real weakness for slapstick, and there’s plenty of that in Ghostbusters! lol!

I enjoyed the Ghostbusters references as well. Especially Beckett’s wry “I ain’t afraid of no ghosts,” line.

We caught the last fifteen minutes of Ghostbusters on cable the other day. The Boy (14) had never seen it. He found the Sta-Puft Marshmallow Man quite amusing. Then last night we introduced him to the 80s classic that is Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure. I’m quite sure his English and History teachers will really appreciate how that comes out in his dialogue at school today…

I love Castle. The writing is always solid, and plus, Nathan Fillion. 🙂

Yeah, Castle is a favorite, especially when they do Firefly references. 🙂

Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure is one of the best time-travel films EVER!

Castle was GREAT last night and Arsenic and Old Lace is a very favorite movie of mine, also. My mother-in-law played one of the sisters when they put that play on at the little theater in Corydon years and years ago.
