Granny’s cat, Sweetie Pie, had a cosmetic operation which she ruined by scratching open the stitches. Naturally, the veterinarian put her into a Cone of Shame. Sweetie Pie, I mean, not Granny.
After ten days, MaMA took Sweetie Pie back. Sweetie Pie is healing nicely, but she has to spend another ten days in the cone while she completes her healing.
MaMA let me play with The GIMP on her laptop, and I made the sorry picture of my sad neighbor more interesting.
And my favorite (MaMA says it’s her favorite, too).
Granny calls Sweetie Pie in her cone Suzie Sunbonnet. MaMA calls her Scarface. MaMA feels sorry for her, though. She arranged Sweetie Pie’s food dish to make it easier for SP to eat, and put some water in a smaller bowl. She said she nearly cried this morning when the vet said SP had to wear the device another ten days.
Meanwhile, Sweetie Pie has lost another half-pound (which is good), and Munchkin continues to eat (which is also good, except when he eats out of my bowl!
A WRITING PROMPT FOR ANIMALS: Have you ever had to wear the cone of shame?

Love your GIMP technique! I liked the sketch one best. Wonder what would happen if I put the GIMP sketch effect on one of my sketches??
Love to all cats, everywhere, esp. at the Allen compound!

September 5, 2015 at 9:55amTry it and see, Jane! But your sketches can’t be improved.
Sweetie Pie is giving me the cold shoulder today. I promised her the cone would come off yesterday, but the vet double-crossed us and ordered it to stay for another 7-10. ~sigh~

And, thanks so very much, BTW. 😉
