Don’t be alarmed; Amidala is fine. She just decided to let me do a post, reporting on things from my end of the walk.
My Mom is Amidala’s “MaMA”‘s mom and Amidala’s Granny, and I call Amidala’s “MaMA” my MomGoth. MomGoth comes down every morning and turns on what her friend T. Lee Harris calls “Kitty TV, the Bird and Squirrel Channel.”
Here is what MomGoth uses to turn the channel on for me. It isn’t what Mom used to use, when she was going to the grocery, but I think it works better, because it brings in more squirrels.
It looks like this inside the bag.
It works better to pull in the channel I like, because it has real nuts in it, and the squirrels go … well … nuts for it!
MomGoth said this picture wouldn’t come out very well, but I wanted her to take it, anyway. Those three gray blobs are squirrels. MomGoth spreads the tuning seeds into about six little piles at different spots, so sometimes there are six squirrels at once out there! It’s terrific!
I could watch all day! When the squirrels eat everything they like best, they go away and the birds come! Then the squirrels come back and root around to see if the birds missed anything. It’s the best show ever!
When MomGoth comes back in the evening, she and Mom watch this little square window that only shows people. It’s so boring, I just lie down behind one chair or the other and take a nap. I mean, they do that, even in the summer, when it’s light out for a long time and they could absolutely be watching the Bird and Squirrel Channel!
I’ll never understand people.
A WRITING PROMPT FOR ANIMALS: Do you like to watch people or animals through the window? Do you have a preference?

November 8, 2015 at 10:18amThe squirrel show has been rocking lately down here. Definitely attracting a lot of attention. Little birds going nuts, too. Flying around in whizzzzing flocks from feeder to sunny tree, back to feeder, etc. They’re almost too busy to dodge your head sometimes. I said almost. They do leave a draft, however.

November 7, 2015 at 7:43amWe have shelves installed under almost every viewing portal for the Bird and Squirrel channel. We also get the Bunny Channel.
