Origin of a Joeyful Frontier #FridayRecommends

Friday RecommendsEver wonder why our 12th month is named December, when the “dec” part means 10? Wonder no more! Friend Jim Young sent me a link to The Origin of December.

One of the great things about blog hops and linkups (like Norm Frampton’s Thursday Doors) is meeting new folks and finding new blogs. One particularly delightful one is Joeyfully Stated: Narratives of a Neurotic and Other Nonsense. A wonderful way to spend some time.

Then there’s Cooke’s Frontier, where you’ll find some OMG stuff. Recipes, homesteading tips, self-sufficiency, DIY, outdoor gear — NO, I don’t do outdoors, but I dote on reading about it. Besides, did I mention the OMG recipes? Yum!

A WRITING PROMPT FOR YOU: Your character has to survive in a difficult physical situation with no outside help.

I was born in Louisville, Kentucky, but now live in the woods in southern Indiana. Though I only write fiction, I love to read non-fiction. The more I learn about this world, the more fantastic I see it is.

Aw, thanks, Dan! I’m glad I did, too. I do love doors.

And, yeah, Joey has a great blog, for sure! So glad I followed the breadcrumbs to it. 🙂

Interesting recommends, as always. Liked the colic post by Joey.

I prefer getting out of tough spots with the help of friends. Guess I’m not a very good lone wolf after all.

Lone wolves are lonely. Most wolves have packs to watch their backs. They have a band to lend a hand. They have a group to bury their … bodies.
