No Drama #FoundPoem

From LIVE WIRE, the call-in column of our weekly newspaper.

No Drama

by Anonymous Caller

Ladies and gentleman,
I approve this message
of New Middletown.
I can’t hardly go outside
to be threatened by somebody’s dog.
I called the cops,
called the animal control.
I have proof
that a dog bite
hurt one of my family members.
All I want
is for the dog
to be gone.
I don’t want no drama, no fight …
If I have to,
I will shoot that dog
to keep my family safe.

‘Cause, you know, never any drama, when you shoot somebody’s dog, amIright?

I’m posting today at Fatal Foodies on the subject of Baked Basghetti.

A WRITING PROMPT FOR YOU: Somebody wants no drama but creates it anyway.

I was born in Louisville, Kentucky, but now live in the woods in southern Indiana. Though I only write fiction, I love to read non-fiction. The more I learn about this world, the more fantastic I see it is.
