I was not given this product to review. I paid cold, hard, money for this, and worth every penny, lemme tell ya.
We had a bread knife, given to us by one of Charlie’s sisters-in-law, but the handle broke. We tried fitting it with a makeshift handle, but that wasn’t entirely satisfactory. To tell you the truth, the knife itself wasn’t entirely satisfactory; it was just the best for slicing bread that we had.
It broke, and I was on the hunt for a new one. I opened Duck Duck Go, my search engine of choice, and looked for Best Bread Knives 2017. I found several consistently mentioned, including the Kai Pure Komachi HD, which also had the benefit of relative cheapness.
Mr. eBay has always been my friend, so I bought it from there, for just under $13 including shipping.
Innit purty?
Also comes with a nifty plastic guard, which we never use, but I’m all about go-withs.
Here’s a closer picture. Don’t ask me why it looks like wood grain, ’cause I don’t know.
How does it work?
Nice, clean cut, even on a warm loaf. Almost NO crumbs. Brilliant.
Oh, and, naturally, I can’t reference a bread knife without thinking of this:

I use a serrated knife for bread, and I seem to be the only person who actually knows how to slice bread, despite my many attempts to teach them…
I have one important question though — is it metal? I need my knives to stick to my magnet block.

June 14, 2017 at 11:07pmIf there is a dead loaf of bread found around….
We know wot suspect.
I can see Steffie using this…..
There she is, enjoying a fresh loaf, right from the bread making machine, and some evil person comes around ans she slices him to bits….
Then mourns the need for a new knife.

June 15, 2017 at 8:43amThere will never be a dead loaf of bread found — I leave no trace of bread behind. Well, BEHIND, yes, if you get my drift. If “drift” is the word I want.
ANYWAY, I’m way ahead of you this time, Pete. As soon as I saw how stylish the knife was and how beautifully it cut, Steffie went, “Ooooo, gimmee!” Tune in next Story A Day May. And what makes you think she would need a new knife? Silly boy!

July 3, 2017 at 6:48amPure Komachi Bread Knife is really great! I see it is versatile, as it can be used to cut a wide range of food but the resin coating can flake off if the knife is not taken care of.
