Poppa Takes My Paper! #Caturday

Hi, there! I’m Tipper Allen, and guess what? Poppa tookded my papers away! I like to sit in the newspaper box. It’s the onliest box I like to sit in. And Poppa tookded it away into the libbing room! Then he wadded up the papers and stuckded them into this brick box that opens on the front.

I got in to visit my papers and see if I could still sit on them, but Poppa chased me out. Momma said I had a schmutz on my face. I guess that’s good, because she rubbed it and kissed me.

Even with the kisses, I was so upset! I hadda do some stretches that Momma calls Kitty Yoga to relax.

Then I noticed that Momma had giveded me some new paper! Really crinkly ones!

It made me very happy.

Then Poppa set my old papers on fire, and put some sticks and stuff on it and guess what? It made a warm! A really big warm!

I guess it’s worth losing my box papers for.

Nothing like a big warm to soothe a kitty. Stay comfy Tipper.

He seems to enjoy crawling up as close to my face as possible. Must be all the hot air.

My cats like the ‘big warm’ too, Tipper, except it’s much too hot for that now. Down here we’re all trying to stay cool!

Oh, yeah, that’s right! Is it “summer” down there, or is “winter” hot?

We don’t get snow in winter but it does get chilly and damp. Summer though, heatwaves can take the temperatures up into the low 40’s [C not F]. We’re having a kind of spring heatwave right now. Melbourne is temperate but it’s felt really tropical the last couple of weeks – hot, wet and humid. 🙁

Okay, so when we say it’s autumn, it’s spring in Australia? And Christmas is a summer holiday? And Easter is in autumn?

-giggles- Yes! Weird, isn’t it? And Christmas lunch is often salad or a bbq coz it’s too hot for having the oven on much less eating something so heavy. A lot of people do, but we’ve learned to be kind to our stomachs at Christmas. 🙂

What I can’t wrap my head around is Christmas in “summer.” I could grasp “winter is hot and summer is cold,” but “summer is hot AND IT’S CHRISTMAS” just kills me. I’m easily amused. 😀
