Halfway through.
Our Story A Day prompt today was a list.
Things I Can See
by Marian Allen
- park bench I’m sitting on
- clothes the Mission gave me, almost worn out now
- my hands, shaking ’cause my blood sugar’s out of whack
- less and less, vision tunneling from the insulin crash
- little boy and his mama, passing to the left
- same little boy, running to the right
- same little boy, running to the left
- same little boy, running to the right
- same little boy, stopping, shouting, “Just like Grampa!”
- same little boy, unwrapping a Mars Bar
- Mars Bar in my face
- another day
