Guest Post – Tippy #Caturday

Hi, I’m Tippy, and I’m beauuuuuuuutiful.

I live with my hooman mom. She had to go away for a few days, so she got Aunt Marian to sit with me. She must be a professional, ’cause I never saw anybody sit as much as she does!

First, I showed her that I eat on the counter, and my food is in the cabinet and in the refrigerator. The cold stuff gets warmed up, of course!

I tried to teach her how to walk sinuously, but she just sat.

She tried to get me to play, but I wanted her to know I was just as good a sitter as she was.

I missed my mom.

All night, I would go up and pat her to see if she had turned into my mom. It was always Aunt Marian, though.

Next day, I was like, “Are you Mom yet?”

FINALLY, Mom came home! Aunt Marian is okay, but she doesn’t move much. My real mom is a lot more interesting!

A WRITING PROMPT FOR ANIMALS: Do you like having a sitter, or would you rather wait alone for your real hooman?

Ha! Now I wonder what our daughter’s cats think of me when I cat-sit?

That was very kind of you, Marian, but what about Tipper and Chickie? Who looked after /them/? Did you get an ecstatic greeting when you returned home?

Charlie looks after Tipper and Chickie while I’m away. And they DID greet me with extra affection and attention. Tipper stuck by my side for a couple of days after I got back and crawled into my lap and turned over on his back and made me hold him like a baby more often than usual. 🙂

Aw, usually Bubba’s our sitter and that’s nice. Bubba doesn’t make tents for Catticus. A few years ago, we had other sitter, and she loved ‘playing house’ with all our animals, which is how I felt when I house-sat/pet-sat as well. She understood Clara wanted to drink from the spout, and she understood Catticus wanted a tent. She’s got her own furry brood now. Animal people, she’s one of us.

Other Sitter sounds like a fun person. Bubba may not be “fun” for the critters, but it’s so kind of him to look after them when they need him. <3
