Painted Metal #ThursdayDoors

I didn’t go anywhere new this week, but I did see something new. At our second-favorite Mexican restaurant, which is the same as our favorite only different, I noticed this pictures with doors in.

They’re made of metal beaten into low relief and then painted. A touch garish? Perhaps. Maybe not high art. But bright and cheerful and just the thing for election season which is also winter and flu-ridden.

There’s a door in there somewhere. Besides, I like Mariachi music, and the first time I heard a live Mariachi band was at this restaurant.
Donkey! Or horse?
Second-story door and lights for Joey.

Thursday doors is the brainchild of Norm Frampton, photographer extraordinaire. Visit his site, enjoy his wonderful photographs, follow his directions, and enter a world of doors.

The bright colors and (in person) three-dimensionality delight the eye and the heart.

I really like them, not garish at all. I reckon that’s a mule.
