#4 Daughter got me hooked on Spotify, which recommends songs based on songs you told it you like. This week, Spotify served me a song by Mose Allison, who was new to me.
It hurts me — hurts me deeply — that I’m just now finding out about this treasure of a songwriter/pianist/singer. Jazzy, bluesy, funny, and heartbreaking, he feeds my soul.
Here’s a link to his web site, where you can read his biography.
And here’s the song Spotify served me, which is the theme song for 2020:
I Don’t Worry About A Thing, lyrics
If this life is driving you to drink
Sitting round wondering just what to think
Well I’ve got some consolation
I’ll give it to you if I might
You know, I don’t worry about a thing
‘Cuz I know nothing’s going to be all right
You know this world’s just one big trouble spot
‘Cuz some have plenty and some have not
You know, I used to be troubled
But I finally saw the light
Now I don’t worry about a thing
‘Cuz I know nothing’s going to be all right
Don’t waste your time trying to be a go getter
Things will get worse before they get any better
You know there’s always somebody
Playing with dynamite
But I don’t worry about a thing
‘Cuz I know nothing’s going to be all right
And my nails this week. Not happy with them. Supposed to be plaid, but plaid seems to be beyond me so far.

A WRITING PROMPT FROM ME TO YOU: Do you worry?
