The title of this post is Hewey and the Dead Leaves. Sounds like a band, doesn’t it? Well, it isn’t.

My recommendation this week is Hewlett-Packard. I love that company so much, I call it Hewey for short.

See, one of my two printers stopped working. Then my other one stopped working. They were each umpty years old, and they just conked out. So I got a new HP printer, and it’s a beaut! Trouble is, my computer is umpty years old, and the printer driver package I needed to download wasn’t compatible with my very old version of Zorin Linux. I needed to download about a hunnert dependency packages (I’m looking at you, Dan) before I could download the hplip driver package with my printer’s driver in it. Or wrestle with upgrading to the most current version of Zorin and blah blah blah.

So I also ordered a new laptop. HP, of course. I had a lovely chat with a sales rep about the whole deal, and wound up saving over $600 on printer, laptop, external CD drive, and mouse.

Hewey FTW!

My nails this week are a dark/light brown ombre with very dark leaf skeletons. My accent nails have reverse-stamped patterns because I like to do reverse stamping.

I had an HP printer for decades that began having problems about 6 years ago, but I struggled on with it until last year when it gave up. I bought a Canon this time. I hope it lasts as long.

I have always liked HP. I have an HP printer running as we speak. I am not familiar with Linux because I didn’t need one more operating system in my life. Windows and Mac OS are more than enough. When I was in charge of buying stuff like this for our company, we bought HP servers and desktop computers and we bought Lenovo laptops. Now that I’m only buying for myself, I’d still choose between HP and Lenovo for a new laptop and HP and Epson for a new printer. Good luck with the new setup. Congrats on saving a nice sum, and those are very cool nails!

I’m the same with my computer/printer choices! The new setup is coming along, but I’m still on the fence about using Windows 11 and installing Zorin Linux.
