Food Tuesday: Not Disposable

#FoodTuesday #writingprompt

Do you ever order food delivery or go through a drive-through to take home and end up with packages of flatware with salt and pepper and napkins that you totally don’t need? Or little sealed packages of sauces or condiments?

DON’T THROW THEM AWAY.

I save them up and take little sacks of them to our local food bank. People in temporary housing and especially people with no housing at all DO NEED THEM.

“One man’s trash is another man’s treasure.”

Single-use hand wipes, individual packets of ketchup or mustard or soy sauce or sweet-and-sour sauce, sample sizes of spices, so many things that are throw-aways to many of us are godsends to somebody else. Little things. Big differences.

A WRITING PROMPT FROM ME TO YOU: Something small that’s important.

About

I was born in Louisville, Kentucky, but now live in the woods in southern Indiana. Though I only write fiction, I love to read non-fiction. The more I learn about this world, the more fantastic I see it is.
