Thursday Doors: Doors That Were

#ThursdayDoors #writingprompt

When we first moved to Corydon, Indiana, there was a greasy spoon (and proudly so) named Jock’s Lunch, though everybody called it Jocko’s. It served hamburgers and home cooking. My favorite was pork boiled until it fell off the bone, served with potatoes and sauerkraut. OMG

Jocko’s is long gone, but Kent Java Bar is next door to where it was, and has a gorgeous picture of it on the wall. I never knew Jocko’s looking so good!

The stone step in front of the door was worn down from all the feet going in and out.

I may have posted this second picture from Kent Java’s wall before, but I love it. SO CREEPY!

I was born in Louisville, Kentucky, but now live in the woods in southern Indiana. Though I only write fiction, I love to read non-fiction. The more I learn about this world, the more fantastic I see it is.

Great doors, Marian, but “pork boiled until it fell off the bone, served with potatoes and sauerkraut.” Oh that sounds so good. We tended to get things later in the cycle, too. I remember some of those appliances. Oddly enough, A character in my WIP is called Jocko – Now I’m going to be hungry every time he’s mentioned.
