I’ve been bingeing Squid Game. I had no interest until it was recommended to me by #1 Daughter and her Mister and their son, Middle Grandson. Middle said, “Season Two is more relationshipy and less killing people. Season One was certainly about killing people. It was like Chuck Palahniuk produced a mash-up of Master Chef and The Hunger Games based on the adventures of Steffie the Spy. So blood. Much dead.
Do I recommend it? Kinda sorta. It IS disturbing in many, many ways, but with gleams of brilliant light. “You don’t trust people because they’re trustworthy. You trust them because you have nothing else to lean on.”
The Game can only function if desperate people are willing to bet their lives on the faint chance of winning, and if they’re willing to do anything to see that they do. They can stop the games at any time a majority of them choose to. All they have to do is choose to stop the Game. No one is forcing them to play. Disturbing.
Anyway, #2 Daughter thought my nails this week were funny. I was glad to amuse her. I hope they amuse some of you, too.
The base colors are red and blue, and the stamping colors are Acorn (very dark brown) for the outlines and text, yellow and green for the corn, off-white and green for the onion, and off-white for the salt.
