Thursday Doors: Postcard from LaGrange

#ThursdayDoors #LaGrange #Kentucky #FromTheGroundUp #writingprompt

Per Bastet did a book signing at From The Ground Up bookstore and cafe. I’m always happy to go to LaGrange, the only town I’ve ever visited that has a train that runs along main street a couple of times a day.

The bookstore was right by the tracks, so OF COURSE I got some shots for Dan of trains and of train tchotchkes sold at the store.

Thursday doors is under the direction of Dan Antion, photographer extraordinaire and critter daddy. Visit his site, enjoy his wonderful photographs, follow his directions, and enter a world of doors.

I’ll be going back to LaGrange later this month, so you can expect more pictures, hopefully some of trains.

A WRITING PROMPT FROM ME TO YOU: Right by the tracks.

About

I was born in Louisville, Kentucky, but now live in the woods in southern Indiana. Though I only write fiction, I love to read non-fiction. The more I learn about this world, the more fantastic I see it is.

This reminds me of Hammond, where I was born, and where the trains ran almost through our back yards. An earthquake every time. Hammond had a great little bookstore back in the day, but nothing as picturesque as this one!

Did you love the trains or hate them? My late husband’s family lived near train tracks at one point, and one sister loved the sound and one hated it.

I love waiting for trains to pass, and what a better place to wait than a book store. I love that they sell train doodads, too. Thanks for sharing these!

Nice doors and trains, Marian. I can imagine the whistle passing by while searching for a book. A great visit on any day!
