You know how sometimes you buy something that looks like a good idea and you curse yourself for wasting money on something that turned out to be stupid? Well, this isn’t that.
A while back, I bought an Ontel Products BATTERY DADDY, and I’ve thanked Past Me many, many times for doing so. It looks like this:

So now, when I need to change or check a battery, I don’t have to rummage around in all the drawers where a battery COULD be, I just grab the Daddy. I can see at a glance what batteries I need to stock up on. If any go bad, I can see it immediately, rather than when I need just one more AAA and finally found one, and …. And yeah, that’s a battery meter in there. It comes with it. So I can tell right away if I need a new battery or if the goddamned remote is goddamned BROKEN, for gods’ sake.
Highly recommended, unless you’re already so organized you have the battery situation covered.
I’m not thrilled with my nails this week. I got a new nail plate, but I don’t think I took best advantage of it. I think my base color should have been a lighter brown so the stamps would stand out more. I used reddish-brown and gray stamping polish. I do rather like the geode effect I managed, though.
I reversed-stamped silver into the central spaces, used a matte finish, then touched up the silver with a holo flakie and topped just that with shiny top coat.

On the whole, not a success. But part of why I post my nail adventures is to make other people feel better about their own journeys.
