I nearly had to post this via the Ouija board. We were coming home from a book event in Lagrange, Sara at the wheel, when rain started coming down in buckets. Limited visibility. Wet road. And this LUNATIC cut between the car to the right and ever so slightly ahead of Sara and Sara. He practically went horizontal to the road to make the cut. There couldn’t have been more than inches to either side of him. Sara hit the brakes just hard enough to give him some of those inches but not hard enough to impede the way of the car behind her or to lose control of our car. It was masterful driving — on her part, not on the part of the lunatic, although they probably thought so.

I was like, “Jeesus! How did you avoid a crash?” She said, “My drivers’ ed class stressed Defensive Driving.”

So my recommendation for today is defensive driving.

Seriously.
